Jenfab Indexing Vertical Cell System

CONCEPT OF OPERATION

The machine has a cross rod indexing chain mechanism with part holding fixtures on 18” centers. Parts are immersed in solution and are continuously sprayed in solution by high volume spray nozzles

Submerged spray is used to spray wash the parts and remove surface contaminants.  Parts are sprayed with high pressure while under solution. This flushing action scrubs all part surfaces, crevices, holes, and recesses clean, and removes oils, grease, and other particulate matter while loosening and removing metallic fines and chips.

The index cycle through solution is programmable via PLC to extend or decrease in tank cycle time.

After the wash cycle, filtered process solution will spray rinse the parts prior to drying.

Tank bottom is pitched from four sides to the pump suction and drain fitting. This conical bottom design combined with bottom mounted flush system forces all chips to the pump section.

The dryer uses the principles of high volume and high velocity recirculating hot air. The dryer contains an internal duct system that directs the airflow from multiple directions to the parts, ensuring uniform exposure of all edges, recesses, and surfaces of components to this airflow.  The dryer is designed to have air being delivered from several directions, captured, recirculated through the heating duct. The parts enter the drying chamber immediately after the final tank.

The parts return back to the front of the machine as they progress through the dryer. After the dryer the parts return to the loading/unloading station.

The supplied system is automated and operators will be tasked with merely placing parts on fixtures in the machine, starting process cycle, then removing finished product after the drying stage.

A typical time sequence follows:

1. Wash cycle (two indexes in solution), 90 seconds

2. Top spray using filtered wash solution, upon index

3. Rinse cycle (two indexes in solution) 90 seconds

4. Top spray using filtered rinse solution upon index

5. Drying cycle (six indexes in dryer), 4.5 minutes

6. Unload/Loading station 35 seconds.
